Four decades of machining expertise
For almost four decades, machining has been at the core of MSR’s industrial capability.
Today, we combine that experience with advanced CNC machines, digital modelling and CAM programming to take on larger, more complex and more tightly controlled work with greater accuracy, repeatability, productivity and cost efficiency.
Precision machining for the demands of heavy industry
We have progressively expanded our machine shop with larger and more sophisticated CNC machines.
Our 1,200 m² facility can accommodate precision components through to workpieces of up to 20 tonnes, giving us substantial in-house capacity for large and demanding machining work.
Bringing this capability in-house gives us tighter control over quality, production schedules and cost.

The right machine for every job
Our conventional and CNC machines give us the flexibility to choose the most practical manufacturing route for each requirement.

Advanced Programming. Enhanced Precision.
Modern CNC capability is only as effective as the planning and programming behind it.
We use Autodesk Fusion 360 for 3D modelling and CAM programming, allowing our team to develop machining strategies, toolpaths and setups digitally before work reaches the machine.
We are currently completing the construction of a 70 m² CNC programming office which will provide a new dedicated environment for our programmers and digital manufacturing team, with large-format workstations and a client review area for working through models, designs and machining strategies before production.
We are also integrating AI and machine-learning tools into selected engineering and manufacturing workflows to support design, programming, planning and productivity. The objective is simple: to manufacture increasingly complex components more efficiently, competitively and consistently.

Repair it. Rebuild it. Replace it.
When a production-critical component is worn, damaged or difficult to source, we assess the most practical route back to service.
01 / Machining & Restoration
Critical Dimensional Restoration
Where technically viable, we can restore critical dimensions, fits, sealing surfaces and mechanical interfaces through machining and refurbishment.
02 / OEM Spec Replacement
Approved Component Manufacturing
Where replacement is the better option, we manufacture from approved drawings, existing components or retained manufacturing information.
03 / Casting & Patterns
Specialist Foundry & Castings
For cast parts such as pump casings, valve bodies and impellers, we work with specialist foundry partners to develop or reuse patterns, manage casting and complete the final machining. We also retain selected patterns for repeat manufacture.
04 / Reverse Engineering
Drawing & Geometry Reconstruction
Where drawings no longer exist, we can outsource the development of replacement manufacturing drawings for customer approval with our industry partners.
